20 years ago, this organisation was created from our Founder's bad holiday experience. Through the following years, she sought to highlight and argue for a change to the holiday product and bring about an end to avoidable experiences.
Through these 2 decades, HolidayTravelWatch has assisted many thousands of ordinary Consumers like you, but we have never lost sight of how your experience should be brought to the attention of those who can make that difference.
In anticipation of our 20th Anniversary, we wanted to know what your experience of travel has meant to you over the last 20 years and of the kind of problems you face today.
The results of our survey were shocking in that despite the growth of mass travel, the holiday companies seem to have forgotten one thing; you!
We would have hoped to see a change in attitude from travel companies whether they are delivering a safe holiday, a holiday that provides clear quality or just simple good customer service! The most shocking finding was our discovery that more than 19% of you told us that when making a holiday complaint, you felt that you had been intimidated. Whilst we recognised the practice, we did not imagine that so many of you suffered at the hands of Corporate bullies!
Today we launch some of the results in our 'Holiday Standards' Report and will be speaking to broadcasters all around the country to share some of this information with you.
Over the course of the next year, we shall be making changes to the way we serve you and will offer a greater commentary on your experiences so bringing your concerns to notice. When you consider that a holiday is probably now no longer a luxury but forms part of the way that you can escape the stresses and strains of life and it accounts for one of the larger annual purchases you will make, surely it is time that travel companies, large and small, start to listen to you the Consumer?
