Spain is more than just sun, sea and sangria. It offers a myriad of holiday experiences for holidaymakers. Unfortunately not all are pleasant. The range of illness experienced here includes serious gastric problems, Salmonella, Shigella, Cryptosporidium and of course Norovirus. We receive complaints about the quality of the food and water, standards of hygiene, the state of swimming pools, sewage smells and poor plumbing. We also hear from holidaymakers who have suffered harassment, sexual assault or inappropriate behaviour.
