Major swimming pool and building works at hotel - UK Tour Operator failing to provide full Consumer Rights

URGENT HELP PLEASE. We have recently received a letter from our travel company stating that the pool at the hotel we have booked is being renovated during half our stay which will mean we have the smaller pool at the hotel only and of course our sleep will be severely disrupted should we get to bed late at any time. I am currently trying to resolve it by moving hotels but the holiday company are being very unhelpful and trying to make us pay extra. Please please can you help with some advice on this. We have booked 4 star/diamond accommodation not the lower level. There are five of us and in total we have spent about £3,500. We took a week to chose this particular holiday and chose it on good reviews, proximity to the town and also the swimming pool area.
