Hi, we booked a holiday with [NAME OF TOUR OPERATOR] in September. Yesterday we received a letter saying the hotel we booked is no longer available to the agency that [NAME OF TOUR OPERATOR] use (one of the agencies). They provided an alternative option but in a different part of Goa and for a very different style of hotel. We were offered a refund or the option of an alternative hotel but if we paid extra. They say there is no respite to compensation because they’ve not offered a downgrade. They also say there is nothing to prevent the same thing happening again i.e. their agency changing hotels. When we book a package holiday it seems we’ve not actually booked it. Is there any protection against these kind of changes? Thanks.
