We are travelling to Greece with an ABTA and ATOL protected company; because our flights have been changed we are now arriving at our accommodation on the day after our original booking, and will not sleep at the hotel on the first night – our travel company insist that the accommodation booking of 14-28 August must remain the same, even though we are not arriving at the hotel until approximately 10am on the 15th, and will not be departing the hotel until the 29th August. This means we lose one night’s overnight accommodation at the beginning of the holiday, and have been told we must pay the hotel to get the room extended on the final day, even though we have lost one night at the beginning. Are they justified in doing this ?
